Mixed up the hot and cold
Keith - Castle Pines, CO 80108
Mark was extremely polite and kept the work area clean. He was installing a u by moen for the first time and did not notice that there was specific spots for the Hot and Cold inputs. As a result the shower only runs ice cold.

Discussed options on plumbing the basement bathroom. Homeowner is wanting to take care of the work.

Southside Plumbing drained down the water lines leading to the outdoor kitchen faucet. This involves removing all the hoses and and internal cartridge as well. This is to ensure no water is trapped or air locked inside the faucet components and hoses. The lines were completely drained down into the basement of the home and the p trap was removed and emptied as well. All hoses and connections were reconnected and the sink should be ready for operation as soon as water is turned on inside the home.

This house is a couple of months old (new build). I talked with the client about installing a U shower system, sump pump alarm, Moen flo, and a pressure reducing valve. I tested house pressure from the hosebib, with 2 different gauges. 1 read 80 psi and another read 82 psi. We know the pressure reducing valve is not working because a working device will not allow the pressure to be higher than 75 psi. You also loose about .5 psi per each vertical foot. We would expect the pressure at the hose bib to never be higher than about 71 or 72 psi. The bolt on the pressure reducing valve is also about 1/2 way in. The pressure should be closer to 50 psi or so. I gave estimates for work to address all the clients’ concerns. Discounts can be applied for multiple jobs.

Southside Plumbing came out to look at a shower having issues with bad smells. The customer had concern about standing water down inside the shower pipe and the water inside the pipe is normal. The water is being held by the P-trap in order to keep the sewer gas smells inside the pipe. The shower and the tub were both operated trying to re-create the smell. After the smell could not be re-created the attic was briefly inspected for any sort of sewer gas odor. No smell could be detected in any location and the homeowner was advised to track any events of smell in the future.

I pulled the toilet in the jack and Jill bathroom. I supplied and installed a new Kohler Cimarron round bowl toilet. After new toilet was installed, I tested for leaks and caulked around the base of the bowl. The toilet is working as it should with no leaks.

Installed steam shower unit. Installed shower trim. Installed valves for lavi and toilet.

Inspected gas line on backside of house with electronic gas sniffer. Found small leak on packing nut of existing valve. Valve is right near a capped gas line we performed, but wasn’t inspected at the time of prior service. Tightened the packing nut and operated valve. Inspected all exposed joints again, and found no leaks.

I cut out the existing delta shower valve and replaced it with a new client supplied Delta rough in valve and trim. No warranty on client supplied parts

Rebuilt three hose bibbs. Flex connector above water heater was leaking. Soldered on new flex connector.

The garbage disposal in the kitchen sink was making a humming noise and the disposal internals were not spinning. Southside Plumbing attempted to unjam the garbage disposal but the garbage disposal was not hung up, it was just seizing to move due to the electrical motor having a problem. The garbage disposal was replaced with a new disposal of the same power rating.

I came out to look at a toilet I reset 3 weeks ago. I didn’t realize, when I was here, the door to the room where the toilet and bathtub were didn’t close. The previous toilet was set back too far. This allowed the door to close but also caused the toilet to leak to the room below. Code requires there to be a minimum of 24” of clearance in front of the toilet. There isn’t enough clearance, in this bathroom, to handle an elongated bowl. I recommend replacing the elongated toilet with a round bowl toilet. I don’t recommend pushing the toilet backwards. This can result in what you had before. And that is water leaking into the room below. See estimate for Southside Plumbing to supply and install a new round bowl toilet.

The 2nd floor guest bath toilet was leaking through the ceiling of the 1st floor when flushed. I pulled the toilet and replaced the wax ring, closet bolts, and supply line. I caulked the base of the toilet and tested for leaks. There was already a hole cut in the ceiling which made the drain piping visible. I don’t see any more leaks and the toilet is flushing as it should. I would wait to patch the hole in the ceiling for a few days to a week to allow things to dry and make sure there are no more leaks.

Installed Moen Flo on main line above T for (2) units. Installed new expansion tank on main line prior to Moen Flo.

Cut out drywall and repaired copper fittings located in his basement. Piping looked in good shape, it was just a bad solder joint. Also gave homeowner a estimate for upgrading from a 40 gallon water heater that is currently 20 years old to a 50 gallon water heater.

Backflow Preventer Installation near Caddie Ct. At the request of a concerned homeowner, I provided backflow preventer installation services to safeguard their water supply. After assessing their plumbing system, I carefully installed a high-quality backflow preventer, ensuring that water flows in one direction and prevents contamination from entering the main water supply. With the backflow preventer in place, the client can have peace of mind knowing that their water is protected from any potential backflow hazards. Their satisfaction with the added layer of safety and reliability was evident.

Existing sump pump had a failed float switch causing the sump pump to run continuously. Southside Plumbing replaced the sump pump with a new check valve and piping going down to the valve. Additionally, the hose bib in the front yard was replaced as well.

Chris H.
The client showed me the bathroom faucet in the guest bedroom. There was absolutely no water coming through the cold side of the faucet. It was obvious that the faucet had something stuck in the supply line, the cartridge, or the valve body. I cleaned and took apart the faucet to determine which it was. *see pics* I found something stuck in the supply line. The cartridge was clear and working. Once I replaced the supply line, the faucet worked as well as it should. Replace the cold supply line and cartridge for the guest bathroom sink.
