Client wanted a new showerhead installed in her bathroom. While we were here we also investigated a funny noise coming from the shower. The noise was determined to be lack of water in the shower P-trap, when the toilet is flushed you can hear the water echoing through the pipes. Southside Plumbing install a brand new showerhead supplied by the homeowner, after testing the showerhead and putting water back into the P-trap the noise has gone away.

The client utilizes a compression stop in order to drain his irrigation system. The existing stop had gone bad and started to leak. Southside Plumbing removed the faulty valve and replaced it with a new quarter turn shut off valve.

There is a leaking shutoff valve for the toilet. The leaking line and valve caused water to damage the ceiling in the garage. The valve is installed on the floor. I will need to repipe the line to raise it up higher to add a new shutoff valve and supply line for the toilet. While shutting off the water to work on the plumbing, I noticed an old main shutoff valve and no pressure reducing valve. House pressure is unregulated and tested to be 73 psi. Because the pressure is unregulated I recommend a pressure reducing valve/regulating valve to make sure the house is protected. I also recommend replacing the main shutoff. I also noticed a 20 year old 75 gallon water heater. It would also be a good idea to replace the water heater to ensure the won’t be any problems. 20 years is way past the average life span of a water heater. See estimates for recommended work
