The client had us back out today to take a second look at the backflow preventer. The valve box was full of water and when turned on, we found a leak at a zone valve. Southside Plumbing does not work on underground irrigation piping and cannot make the repair. While onsite, Southside did repair the fill valve located in the master toilet.

The basket strainer on the kitchen sink was removed and swapped for a second garbage disposal. The new disposal was provided by the homeowner.

Cut out leaking copper pipe and associated fittings on hot water line in crawlspace leading up through the floor to the 3rd floor, and replaced with new piping and fittings.

Customer had water leaking through the basement ceiling when the bathroom on the 2nd floor was used. I pinpointed it to a drain stack in the wall. I found 2 holes drilled through the pipe when a shelf was hung on the master bathroom wall. I removed the bad section of pipe and replaced it with a new section of 3” pvc.

Pressure was checked upon arrival. Pressure is at about 112 PSI. Southside Plumbing replaced the regulator and set the pressure to about 65 PSI.

The water heater is throwing up error codes regarding a faulty gas control unit. The parts are still under warranty and Southside Plumbing replaced the gas control unit. The heater is now operational. The heater was also drained and flushed during repair.

The client is selling the home. The home inspector said the sump pump isn’t working. After inspection of the pump and pit, I found the bottom of the existing pump is covered in dried up dirt. The way the pump is situated, the float doesn’t have the necessary space to work as intended. The power to the pump goes on when manually lifting the pump. With further work to clean out the pot and reinstall the pump I am unable to see if the existing pump would work in practice. I recommend cleaning out the bottom of the pit, possibly installing a new pump on bricks or blocks, and reworking the pit to accommodate the new pump. See estimates 5/22/25- completely cleaned out sump pit and removed the existing pump. I installed a new pump and discharge piping to ensure proper functionality. After all work was finished, I tested the pump by filling the pit with water. The pump had no leaks and evacuated the water as it should. **1 year warranty on work performed today**

We added on a new studor vent and cleaned out P-trap to eliminate that smell under the kitchen cabinet. We added all the stainless steel washing machine hoses and added on new valves to the washing machine box.

Installed a pressure regulating valve and set the pressure at 60psi, also did a number one shutoff valve and a hammer arrestor for the irrigation system.

Inspected error code on Navien tankless water heater and made repairs as required.

Today, I came out to my clients home to take a look at a repair that another plumbing company did for our client, and it has failed. My client took me to the water shut off/supply for the irrigation system. A propress fitting had blown apart because it was not properly put together. Due to the tight space that I had to work in, I chose to solder the copper pipes together to make this repair. Now the water supply line feeding the irrigation system is nicely repaired, the water turned on, and tested for leaks. One year parts and labor warranty on this repair. Thanks for the call. Slow draining drain for the washer/kitchen sink. I snaked the drain to clear blockage. Drain was tested and all was draining free and clear.

Kitchen sink faucet had a lack of hot water. Changed out the hot double compression valve going to the kitchen sink, and dishwasher. Rubber gasket blew out of the compression valve and is stuck somewhere inside of the faucet connections. Correction to get Maxwell hot water again to order out a new faucet, old one is 16 years old. Also changed out a check valve in the basement going to the recirculation pump.

Replaced a sprinkler valve

Customer Signed up for the maintenance agreement (healthy home club) and I replaced the toilet shutoff for the 2nd floor front facing bathroom.

Removed the existing Rheem and Installed a new 50 gallon Bradford White natural gas water heater. A new expansion tank, double wall exhaust wye, supply flexes for water and gas, as well as a new t&p drain and pan with drain. House press Was tested to be 70 psi.

Snaked master shower and added caulking on the hall bath upstairs

Main sewer line was severely backed up. Camera inspection revealed multiple issues - grease buildup and partial collapse at 45' mark. Used commercial snake followed by hydro-jetting to restore flow. Discussed options for line repair vs. replacement with homeowner - recommended trenchless repair for damaged section. Temporary fix completed today but permanent solution needed soon. Provided detailed quote for follow-up work.

replaced 50 gallon water heater and brought it up to code. Customer was advised to flush the tank as per the manufacturers instructions because they have a water softener. Failure to not will result to the tank leaking again, and the warranty will be null and void.

Came out to look to find location of water leaking through the ceiling. Looked upstairs in the laundry room. Found that bolt a hot and cold connections on the hoses were dripping. Tightened both of them up. Left toilet paper under the hose connections so that they can be checked later to make sure everything is tightened up all the way. Also ran the washing machine to make sure there are no issues there. In basement, found the furnace exhaust line to have a large dip in it. Highly recommend getting someone out to make corrections so that the water does not stay in the line.

Today, I came out to my clients home to take a look at a broken drain pipe. The main stack serving the upstairs level of the home has a crack in it near the basement floor. This section of line has been leaking for a while and is messed up the home a little bit inside of this closet area. Our client is going to have restoration one come out and remove a portion of the wall because the stack is built in. Once this portion of the wall has been removed, and the stack is accessible, our client will call back and schedule for me to return and replace a section of cracked stack. ————————————————————— Today, I returned to my clients home, and I cut out a section of the main stack, replacing it with a new section of PVC. I installed this section with a rubber boot and an expansion joint boot to give it some flexibility and help it resist from cracking again in the future.
