Took out copper pipe being that had pinhole in them on the hot side within the mechanical area in Burley into the basement TV area. Turn off water at the front yard and replaced both the main and secondary valve coming into the house. Took out water softener and filter which was not being used and rerouted piping within the basement closet at Watermain.
The shower in the master bathroom was previously worked on by Southside Plumbing. The diverter cartridge for the shower was replaced on a previous visit. The shower is now experiencing a problem with the temperature control portion of the shower. The main shower valve is a unit from Kohler that features two different internal pieces. The first piece in the front half of the body turns the flow of water on or off. The second piece located in the back of the valve balances the temperature/pressure of hot and cold water coming into the valve body. This prevents accidental scalding that can be caused when another fixture is used nearby while a person is using the shower. Southside Plumbing replaced both front and rear parts of the cartridge as well as all of the gaskets/seals in between them.
Customer called us out to replace shut off valves under master bathroom sink for a remodel. We checked the other existing valves within the house and informed her that they were multiturn and have aged. She decided while we were there that it would be best for us to just replace them all with new quarter turn valves. While checking to see if the main valve shuts off, we discovered that it does not and it was a gate valve. We shhut the water off at the curb, rebuilt the main tree with number one number two and sprinkler valves. Installed 11 quarter turn valves with new flexes going to the faucets.
Client has a lightly used Halo system they would like installed in the basement. Due to a requirement for a drain connection, the Halo system will be installed near the floor drain serving the furnace/water heater. The main line will be rerouted directly to the halo. The outlet will be ran to a nearby water line to feed the water from this location instead. This achieves the same end result while using much less pipe. The drain tubing will be ran to the drain and the system will be charged and pressurized to ensure proper operation.
Cleaned out shower drain with electric handheld machine. Replaced shower head in upstairs guest bath with owner provided.
Faucets were changed and the drains were upgraded. Parts and labor warrantied for a year.
Installed and secured under counter ice maker and dishwasher.
Customer had a leak in the wall between the master bath shower and the 2nd floor hall bath tub/shower. The leak was on a sharkbite coupling, on the hot supply side. There were a total of 4 sharkbite fittings on the hot side. I removed all 4 and repiped the hot side to accommodate the new fittings. There are still sharkbite fittings on the cold side but they are not leaking. The homeowner doesn’t want to replace them at this time.
Replaced kitchen sink faucet with owner provided.
Routed drain, vent, and waterlines for future kitchenette sink in the basement.
Sprinkler valve was leaking. I replaced it with a quarter turn ball valve. Parts and labor warrantied for a year.
Customer showed us a leak under the kitchen sink. After inspection, we narrowed it down to the kitchen faucet. Customer had already purchased and supplied the faucet. We installed the customer supplied kitchen faucet. Checked for leaks and any other potential issues under the sink, None were present at this time.
Replaced gas control valve and pilot assembly with new burner gasket as well.
The customer has a leak on the shower head 90 (drop ear). There are 2 visible cracks on the pb drop ear 90. The pipe is all polybutylene. There is no safe way I can connect to the polybutylene. I recommend repiping the water lines to the entire house. See estimates
Rebuilt all of the main water valves along with pressure reducing valve. Put in new tub drain, overflow and made repair on hallway shower valve. Added on expansion tank water heater to get up to code.
Toilet was clogged, I used an auger to unclog it, flushed it a couple of times and made sure it’s working correctly.
Installed a new Navien NPE240A-2.
The waste and over flow to the master bathtub was leaking, I replaced it and tested it and made sure there were no leaks. Parts and labor warrantied For a year.
The previous valve was leaking, I changed it and upgraded it to a brass valve that is 1/4 turn. The rest of the valves in the house are old and the kitchen valve doesn’t have a handle to turn it on or off. The faucet on the left side of the master bathroom is not working and I recommend to change it.
Replaced leaking 2 pipe water heater with a direct replacement Bradford White water heater.
Customer had leak coming through the ceiling. It was caused by a wax ring that was not sealing the toilet correctly. The toilet was pulled the wax ring changed and it was set and caulked. Parts and labor warrantied for a year.
His water heater plastic drain port was leaking, it was replaced with a brass drain port parts and labor warrantied for a year.
Customer has major root problems in multiple locations throughout the sewer main. I snaked through 3 different locations to open up the line again. The drain from the basement bathroom toilet is also back pitched. There was standing water in the toilet elbow. This is proof the line is not pitched correctly. I recommend using a root killer monthly to slow the growth of the roots. This can buy some time between drain line blockages. Eventually the drain lines, both inside the home and outside, will need to be replaced. There is no warranty on the drain line due to the terrible condition.
Customer has a leak in a 3/4” copper (hot) copper line in the wall, next to the water heater. I recommend cutting out (about 2 feet of pipe) the failed pipe and replacing it with new pipe. I replaced the pipe and tested for leaks. All is dry and working as it should.
Customer had a leak in a copper line in the ceiling of the 1st floor. It was by the powder bath. A handyman was out before me to attempt a repair. The customer called us to finish the job because the handyman was struggling. I made a repair only to find another leak. The present leak is on a 1/2” sharkbite coupling that the handyman installed. It is the new style of sharkbite. I installed 2 shutoff valves on the upstream side of the leak so the house could have water turned on. There is at least one cross connection somewhere in the system. It may be on one of the shower valves. The hot supply line had cold water coming out of it after all valves were shut off. It was still getting water to part of the system. There are many problems with the plumbing as far as being incorrect. To fix the current leak, one of the 2nd floor bathroom walls has to be cut into to access the sharkbite fittings. This will destroy either the shower of one bathroom or the tub/shower. The customer will let us
