Job Locations and Reviews
The home is equipped with dual 50 gallon water heaters installed in series. The heater closest to the furnace is leaking from the internal tank and needs to be replaced. The bad heater was taken out of service and the piping was bridged to bypass the bad heater while leaving the good heater in service. A drain hose was left on the bad heater to empty it.
Replaced cleanout and expansion joint on 3” stack by water heater. Replaced 4” vent 90° for furnace at riser. Replaced toilet in main floor hall bath. Replaced (6) cartridges and seats/springs in master bath. Identified leak from base of toilet in basement bath. Provided estimate for repair.
There was a plastic piece lodged in the garbage disposal and every time it fired It made a crackling sound. The piece was removed and the garbage disposal is working fine..
Customer has a 75 gallon NG Rheem water heater. It is 5 years old and is plumbed in a system with a water softener. I recommended they replace the anode rod and flush the heater. I was able to flush the heater but was unable to remove the existing anode rod. It has fused onto the tank. I used a torch and multiple wrenches. I tried everything to remove it and nothing was working. I don’t want to attempt anything more due to possibly damaging the water heater. I charged the customer for the water heater flush.
The existing gas line was tied into and extended to the fence line.
Southside Plumbing will cut out and remove the entire waste stack and replace it with PVC piping. The stack utilizes multiple offsets with. 45 degree elbows as well as a wye branch that will also be replaced. The piping replacement will go from the garage ceiling all the way down to the basement clean out at the bottom of the stack. The current piping material is ABS and can be prone to failed joints/fittings. PVC is a longer lasting material that will not be prone to cracking and failing like the ABS.
Repaired water line under the concrete slab in the kitchen. Tested water line, and the. Repaired the concrete.
Installed gas valve to the range outside, supported the piping below and tested for leaks
Customer was concerned about buckling on the floor. We investigated it and everything is dry. He will call us when it’s time to do the pressure regulating valve.
When I adjusted the pressure here yesterday, my guard said 67 psi. I checked it today with a new gauge and it said 50 psi. I made adjustments and set the house pressure to be 70 psi. Everything seems okay now.
Replaced both backflow prevention devices for the irrigation system of the house. One in the back and one in the front.
Raised termination point of the new gas line 12 inches.
The new washing machine was making a hammering sound when filling with water. The home currently does not have a pressure regulator on it. The pressure was tested and found to be at 76 psi. (Acceptable Level Is 80 PSI Or Less) Southside Plumbing installed hammer arresters on the hot and cold valves inside the washer box and the hammer has been mitigated.
Replaced washer box for 2nd floor washing machine. I increased the length of the stand pipe to about 32” and tested for leaks. Everything is working as it should.
The toilet in the main floor half bath is showing signs of deterioration on the rubber seals inside the toilet tank. The homeowner had a new flapper as well as a new fill valve on site when we arrived. Southside Plumbing ended up changing out the tank to bowl connections as well. Customers parts were installed while the tank was off. The toilet was reconnected using a new supply line and the new parts are operating properly.

Inspected perimeter drainage with camera and locater. Scoped and located perimeter drainage routed confidently over toward bedroom in basement. Unable to get all the way to corner of room, but definitely routed that way. Unable to follow routing towards front of home, but indications lead to say its minimally routed to the front corner of home
There is a pinhole leak in the hot supply line in the basement ceiling. The bad section of pipe will be cut out and a new pipe will be installed in its place.
Customer has drainage issues in the underground piping for the sump pump. I gave an estimate to replace the drainage pipe and run above ground.
Replaced 50 gallon single pipe water heater.
Customer had a very small drip on the hose bib we installed a year ago. I removed the guts to check and cleared out the hose bib and replaced the guts. After putting everything back together, I tested for leaks and found everything to be dry. Warranty call**
Opened ceiling to identify leak. No leak identified immediately. Pinhole shown on copper in the “area”, but not wet or leaking actively. Provided estimate for pinhole repair.
Cleared out main stack in mechanical room through cleanout access. Everything in home running and draining currently.
