Customer had a kitchen sink drain back up. I snaked the kitchen sink drain, by pulling the trap, to clear the blockage.
Cleared master bathroom toilet with toilet auger.
The gas line on the side of the home is supplying gas to the BBQ grill. The gas line was flagged by Excel for having leaks underground. Southside Plumbing attempted to test the line but could not get any pressure to hold at all. Line was deemed unsafe for use due to the leaks. The line was completely excavated and replaced with a new line. The new line was ran using a continuous piece of pipe under the soil. The line was tested at 15 psi and held the pressure steady for 15 minutes.
Lowered the kitchen sink drain
The water supply line for the sprinkler system has a shutoff valve that is not shutting the water off all the way. The valve is located in the basement on a 3/4 copper line. Southside Plumbing replaced the valve with a new quarter turn shutoff. The main valve was inspected and tested While working on the sprinkler valve. The main valve is found to be in good working order.
Replaced two bathroom compression stops and added new flex connectors.
The homeowner thought he smelled gas in the mechanical room of the basement. After testing multiple gas connections, we did find a leak on the flex connector for the furnace. Southside Plumbing attempted to tighten up the leaky connections, but could not get them to seal up. The connector was replaced with a new flex hose and the leak has stopped. EDIT: We tried multiple gas flex connections and a new valve but were still picking up signs of a leak on both our electronic gas sniffer, and the customers electronic gas sniffer. All the detected leaks were on the underside of the joints, leading us to believe the sniffers were picking up a different compound. Southside Plumbing installed a new gas valve and hard piped the rest of the gas connections to the furnace removing, any flex connections. The hard pipe gas connections did not show any signs of gas leaking.
Denis tried to change a sensor for the Moen flo and wasn’t able to stop the water. I replaced his sensor and stopped the leak
Southside Plumbing installed a new bathroom faucet in the powder room bathroom. We came out to install this faucet on a previous visit however, the new faucet was missing pieces. The faucet was provided by the homeowners and they exchanged it for a complete unit. The faucet was installed using new shut off valves and new flex connectors.
Customer has multiple issues they wanted to address. I gave estimates for work. The final price will be determined by how many and which options they choose.
Southside Plumbing was out initially to take a look at a heater that was not lighting. The heater is a power direct vented 75 gallon from Bradford White. After spending some time on tech-support and testing the heater, The gas control unit was throwing a fault that tech-support diagnosed as a bad gas control valve/pilot ignition assembly. The heater is still under warranty through Bradford White & The new parts were covered by warranty. Client also wanted the anode rod changed out while we were working on the heater. The heater was completely drained And flushed.
The main floor restroom by the laundry area is being remodeled, and the client has a new sink, Vanity, And toilet to be installed in the bathroom. Southside Plumbing installed the vanity using new flex connectors, Shut off valves, And a new P-trap to connect the drain. The toilet was set using new bolts, shims, new wax ring, and caulking around the base to prevent rocking/shifting.
Cindy, It was very nice to meet you. Glad to Get the water back on Today. For the service call today, we installed a new 1/4 turn compression valve, a stainless steel flex connector, along with your fill valve and flapper that you provided. Also check the pressure to be at 100 psi. Highly recommended to get the pressure down. Hope you have a great rest of your day, Mark.
Rebuild the main valve tree entering the home including 3/4" Main Ball Valve, Pressure Reducing Valves, Vacation Valve, and Sprinkler Valve. Includes: - Remove broken valve(s) - Install additional 3/4" main shut off valve * Includes any copper piping required in changing out the valves. * Install new copper at meter. A pressure regulator was added to the estimate initially however, the home currently does not have a pressure regulator. When checking the pressure the pressure is between 55 and 60 psi and a pressure regulator is not necessary.
The main floor toilet is not filling properly due to a faulty fill valve. Southside Plumbing replaced the bad fill valve with a new unit. After testing the new fill valve, the toilet is flushing normally.
Dani, Is very nice to meet you. I sent out a few extra estimates that hopefully are helpful To keep the home protected and safe. Came out on a call, and found that there is a pinhole leak on the plastic piping coming Needle valve above the water heater. Put A copper tee As well as a quarter turn compression valve that can Be that later date if water is desired at the dry bar area where there once was the plastic line. Hope you have a fantastic day! Mark
Gwyn it was Nice meeting you today. I’ll do an I’ll do a search for the tub pump, and let you know as soon as I find it. As for today we Installed a new sump pump into pit under the crawlspace. Routed new piping under crawlspace in through subfloor. Also drilled additional hole through brick and sealed for moisture. Discharged piping to the exterior. Also purchased and installed the new.1/2 Horsepower garbage disposal. Put on new stainless steel flange.

Hi Teri and Steve, It was such a pleasure meeting such lovely, warm people. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the leak, but the repair I made should be sufficient. Good luck with tiling your bathroom! Have a happy 4th of July, and thank you for choosing Southside Plumbing. Best regards, Michael
Installed new customer supplied shower pan. Cut out existing drain line, an increased draining system from a 1-1/2” to a 2” drain line. Soldered on new shower valve. Centered shower valve in the wall. Cut out stud to move to center.
Customer reported a drip in the ceiling of the kitchen area. The laundry area is right above the kitchen. We ran a lot of water through the washing machine drain, the laundry tub, and the floor drain. We were unable to recreate the leak. I don’t know what to repair without seeing where the water is coming from. I did, however, notice a few other issues that need to be addressed. The washer box valves don’t completely shutoff, I would recommend replacing the washer box. However, the building water pressure is 94 psi. We would need to install a new pressure reducing valve before work is completed on the water system. The laundry sink faucet drips and should be replaced. There is no p-trap under the laundry tub, the t and P valve on the water heater drips constantly and the expansion tank, on the water heater has failed and needs to be replaced.
The water pressure inside the home needs to be regulated to keep it at an appropriate level. Southside Plumbing installed a new pressure regulator on the mainline. The pressure was set to approximately 65 PSI. The hose bib in the front yard was also replaced with a new unit. Additionally, a tub drain and overflow were updated with new trim.
Purchased and installed a 50 gallon water heater. Put on new dielectric unions, and copper piping. Reconnected flue and gas lines. Hauled away old heater.
Dropped test after inspection and removed test gear.
Removed the existing needle valve and installed a new 1/4 turn angle stop with supply line.
